Down and Out in Paris and London, by George Orwell

This is a well known classic by George Orwell. From memory it was the first book he published, insisting it not be published under his real name of Eric Blair so his parents wouldn't be offended.

Did Orwell I wonder invent this style of first hand reportage?

The book hasn't dated one bit, and is still wonderfully readable today.
